Let's Get Social

If you have a computer and have no idea what a social network is... well... we aren't sure what to tell you except maybe check this out . Over the past several years social networks have been popping up like candy corn at Halloween. Some sites do pull it together better than others. Today we bring you more sites for making and keeping friends, whether real-world or virtual. (PS: Join our group on Facebook ) Click here to see about other networks we have written about...

Today's 10 Links a Day: More Social Networks.

  1. eons
eons is a social network geared towards the baby boomers. If you don't know if you are a baby boomer, move on down to #2 on the list.

  2. SocialVibe
SocialVibe capitalizes on the viewers of networks and turns it into charitable good. An ad for a  selected brand by the user goes on the user's social-network profile, and the proceeds from the ad go to the chosen charity.

  3. Sosauce
SoSauce is a slick social-networking platform for photo and travel enthusiasts. Users can upload photos, blog about travel experiences, and even play multiplayer games. The site is not as profile-based as other social networks, but instead is built around sharing and showing off your content.

  4. GAIA
Imagine a community of others who understand, like you, that by focusing our energy on what inspires us rather than what we fear, we bring about the world we desire. By keeping kindness in our hearts, we contribute to the harmony of Gaia. Gaia Community is a place to share this intention with like-minded others, so that together we can make the world a better place. We think it's a pretty wonderful (virtual) space to be, and we're happy to welcome you home.

  5. LiveJournal
You can use LiveJournal in many ways: a private journal, a blog, a discussion forum or a social network

  6. Stardoll
Stardoll is a virtual paperdoll community site for everyone who enjoys fashion, design and making friends.

  7. Tagged
Tagged helps people keep in touch with their friends and make new ones. We provide a fun media experience featuring expressive custom profiles, fluid widget embedding, integrated video, chat, and much more.

  8. brightkite
Brightkite is a location-based social network. In real time you can see where your friends are and what they're up to. Depending on your privacy settings you can also meet others nearby.

  9. tripwolf
tripwolf is a social travel guide for the discerning traveler that combines professional editorial travel content with user generated content – a collection of  experiences from thousands of travelers worldwide.

  10. Webbr
Webbr visually connects you with everyone around you.
