Since it is women's health week (as I just read in your latest post!), the topic of HPV and its link to cervical cancer is especially relevant. Would you consider doing a post on HPV?

Here are a few key facts:

-Cervical cancer is the only cancer with a single-known cause--the human papilloma virus.

-Approx. 80% of women will get one or more types of HPV by age 50.

-The pap alone is not foolproof when it comes to detecting HPV-- it can miss up to half the time.

-When combined with the pap, the HPV Test is virtually 100% accurate in identifying women at risk for cervical cancer.
I'll attach three fact sheets to this e-mail. One is about cervical cancer, one is about the HPV vaccine, and one is about the HPV test.

Here are some relevant links:

-Informative videos and patient success stories:

-Information specifically about the HPVtest: http://www.thehpvtest.com

-A news story on the link between HPV and cervical cancer:

-HPV information from the Center for Disease Control and prevention: http://www.cdc.gov/STD/HPV/STDFact-HPV.htm

-Cervical cancer information from the CDC: http://www.cdc.gov/cancer/cervical/

-Information about the HPV vaccine: www.cdc.gov/std/Hpv/STDFact-HPV-vaccine.htm

I hope you'll post on this! Let me know if you have any questions!
