Start Going Green, please

Maybe one of your New Year's Resolutions is to be more Green. If it's not, it's never too late to start going green. Today's posting was inspired by a recent airing of an Oprah episode: Going Green 101, What Your Family Can Do today! Remember folks, every step to saving the environment counts. Tell us your going green tips in our comments section.

Today's 10linksaday: Going Green. Easy steps to getting there.

  1. American Forests
American Forests works to protect, restore and enhance the natural capital of trees and forests. Healthy forests filter water, remove air pollution, sequester carbon, and provide homes for wildlife. Help plant trees to restore areas damaged by wildfire, where critical wildlife habitat has been lost, and to clean our air and water.

  2. Earth 911
Earth 911 delivers actionable local information on the environment that empowers people to act locally, live responsibly and contribute to sustainability.

  3. GreenDimes
We don't like unwanted postal mail and we believe that the 113 million households in America feel the same way. Our business is to reduce your household's unwanted mail- our mission is to put an end to it for good. Sign the petition to legislate an end. Get our FREE ME! or GREEN ME! to reduce your junk mail up to 90% and we'll plant 10 trees on your behalf.

  4. Stop Global Warming
The Stop Global Warming Virtual March is a non-partisan effort to bring citizens together to declare that global warming is here now and that it is time to demand solutions.

  5. The Green Book
The Everyday Guide to Saving the Planet One Simple Step at a Time

  6. EcoBags
Our reason for creating ECOBAGS® is simple: We exist to provide products, information and inspiration that help people reduce, re-use and recycle. Starting with the simple step of bringing your own reusable bag to shop may seem trivial, but it creates a "mindset" that has a big impact on those who make that choice.

  7. Shaklee Products
Cleaning products that are safe for you, your home and your world

  8. Smart Strip Power Strip
This power strip stops the energy from being wasted.

  9. Carbonfund.org
Carbonfund.org is leading the fight against global warming climate change, making it easy and affordable for any individual, business or organization to eliminate their climate impact and hastening the transformation to a clean energy future.

  10. TerraPass.org
The first step you can take to fight global warming is to reduce your carbon footprint through conservation. Drive less. Turn down the thermostat. Buy locally produced goods. Then use TerraPass to balance the emissions you can't reduce. When you buy a TerraPass, your money funds clean energy and efficiency projects such as wind farms. These projects result in verified reductions in greenhouse gas emissions.

I just started using the Shaklee GetClean products a couple months ago, and now I'm giving free conference call presentations to people who want to know more about the products -- the schedule is at http://yourgreenclub.com/. For people who aren't able to make that schedule, I can do one-on-one toll-free presentations -- you just have to contact me.
